LAPD seeking help in 2021 assault case

Toluca Lake, CA –  Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in an assault.

On August 29, 2021, around 2:00 a.m., the victims (father and son) had exited a Pub in the Toluca Lake area. Suspect-1 approached the younger victim in an aggressive manner, appearing to start a fight. His father stepped between them to separate Suspect-1. For no apparent reason, Suspect-1 punched the father on the face causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the ground. The son attempted to protect his father, who in turn, was also punched and fell to the ground next to his father. Suspect-1,2 and 3 then punched and kicked both father and son while on the ground. The attack ended when witnesses approached to help.

The father sustained a broken nose, broken ribs and multiple bruises throughout his body. The son sustained multiple bruising and scratches throughout his body.


Suspect-1 is described as a male white, 25 to 30 years-old. He stands 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray hat, purple Toronto Raptors jersey, blue jeans and gray shoes.

Suspect-2 is described as a male white, 25 to 30 years-old. He stands 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 170 to 180 pounds. Suspect-2 was wearing a blue shirt, light blue jeans, white shoes with blonde bushy hair.

Suspect-3 is described as a male white, 45 to 50 years-old. He stands at 5 feet 10 to 5 feet 11 inches inches tall and weighs approximately 180 to 190 pounds. Suspect-3 was wearing black shirt, long black shorts, black shoes, cauliflower ears with his hair pulled back in a bun with the lower half of his hair shaved.

It is recommended the community take the following precautions to reduce the risk of becoming a victim:

  • Always be alert to your surroundings and the people around you.
  • Look around often and avoid looking at your phone or handheld device for an extended period.
  • Try to avoid walking alone at night in areas where there are few people.
  • Be careful when people stop you for directions. Always reply from a distance, and n ever get too close.
  • If you feel you’re being followed, walk to a well-populated area.
  • Try to stay in well-lit areas.
  • Report the crime to the police. Try to describe the attacker accurately.
  • Your actions can help prevent others from becoming victims.
