Boater finds brick of cocaine floating in Ocean off Florida Keys

ISLAMORADA, FL – A brick of suspected cocaine was found on the water off Islamorada Thursday by a boater.

Sgt. Vaughn O’Keefe and Deputy Aaron Roddy responded to the 75000 block of the Overseas Highway at approximately 1:51 p.m. after the boater notified the Sheriff’s Office. The contents of the brick were waterlogged and could not be field-tested.

The package was turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
