State Police deem fatal I-76 crash suspicious, seeking witnesses

The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with a suspicious death investigation on Interstate 76 in Mount Ephraim Borough, Camden County.

On January 24, at approximately 10:32 p.m., troopers from Troop “A” Bellmawr Station responded to a single vehicle crash on State Highway 76 eastbound at milepost .4. When troopers arrived, they discovered the male driver of a black 2004 Mercedes Benz 500 was deceased.

Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives determined that the victim died as a result of injuries not related to the crash. While driving on Interstate 76, the victim succumbed to his injuries and his vehicle went off the road where it struck a traffic barrier.
