Pennsylvania weed dealer charged with selling 25 pounds of pot in North Wildwood school zone

NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ – On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at approximately 8:45 P.M., North Wildwood Police Department Detective Joseph Kopetsky located two abandoned suitcases in the area of 14th and New Jersey Avenue.  Further investigation revealed that the suitcases contained a large quantity of marijuana, packaged for sale. 

Surveillance was conducted and shortly thereafter, Michael Shank, 57, of Bristol, PA returned to the area to retrieve the suitcases. Shank was arrested and charged with Distribution of Marijuana over 25lbs, a crime of the first degree, Distribution of Hash over 5lbs, a crime of the first degree, Distribution in a School Zone, a crime of the third degree, and Distribution within a public park, a crime of the second degree.  Shank was transported to the Cape May County Correctional Center.  He is only charged with the above-mentioned offenses and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
