Woman shot dead in Houston found lying in driveway

HOUSTON, TX  – Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman that occurred at 13600 Nimitz Street about 12:30 a.m. today.   The identity of the victim, 44, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Meek and J. Horn and Detectives R. Rivera and D. Hobson reported HPD patrol officers were flagged down by a citizen who stated he heard gunshots and then saw a woman (victim) lying in the driveway of a residence at the above address.  Officers located the woman who was unresponsive and had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.  

The unknown suspect(s) fled in a vehicle described as a white Dodge Charger with a black spoiler on the trunk.  A photo of the suspect vehicle is attached to this news release.  This same vehicle, with reports of a suspect(s) discharging a weapon, has been seen in the area multiple times.   Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
