COLUMBUS, OH – A Columbus boy escaped serious injury after a bullet fired into his bedroom lost velocity and fell to the ground next to him.

The 11-year-old was in his bedroom playing a video game Sunday, when he stated he heard a pop and felt something hit him in the right side of the chest.

He observed a hole in the drywall of his bedroom and alerted his father. Upon looking around, they discovered a bullet on the floor. C.P. luckily did not sustain an injury from the projectile that struck him in the chest and required no medical treatment. Patrol Officers stated that earlier in the shift, there was a call of shots fired to the west of this location so it appears the round that struck C.P. was possibly from that incident.
