One dead during crash on Red Bank’s Coopers Bridge

RED BANK, NJ – The Red Bank Police Department has reported one death in an accident on Coopers Bridge, one of the main entry points into downtown Red Bank. A driver of a Mercedes heading southbound on Route 35 collided with the rear of a pickup truck. The Mercedes then veered off the road and overturned, colliding with a traffic light control box. The driver of the pickup truck was treated for injuries at Riverview Medical Center and released. The driver of the Mercedes died. The accident is being investigated by the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team.
