Galloway police make arrest at crash scene after fight leads to stabbing

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – On Tuesday, Galloway Township Police Department patrol units were dispatched to Federal Ct. for the report of a physical altercation involving two males. Hisham Sarhan, a twenty-three-year-old resident of Somers Point sustained a non-fatal stab wound to his abdomen and was subsequently transported to Atlantic City Medical Center, City Division.

While conducting an on-scene investigation, Galloway Twp. Police were advised by Mullica Twp. Police that they had located the suspect’s vehicle, crashed and abandoned in their jurisdiction. An intensive search of the area was conducted by NJSP Aviation Unit, Galloway Twp, Mullica Twp, as well as Hamilton Twp. Police K-9 unit. The suspect, Raul Virella Jr. twenty-nine years old, of Bordentown was eventually located in Hammonton and taken into custody without incident.
