More than just a bad hair day for Columbus woman who robbed and shot another woman in restaurant parking lot

COLUMBUS, OH – For Briana Soto, a bad hair day turned into a bad day after she shot another woman during an argument in a restaurant parking lot, sending the victim to the hospital in very serious condition.

Columbus police report that on Monday, 18-year-old Briana Soto was taken into custody after she was positively identified as the individual who robbed and shot the victim. Soto was charged with Aggravated Robbery, a felony of the 1st degree.

On January 26, 2022 at 10:10 am, officers were dispatched to business located on the 1000 block of E. Broad St. on a shooting.


Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to serious condition. A witness interviewed at the scene stated the victim was engaged in a verbal argument with an unknown female white passenger aboard a red Cadillac two-door in the restaurant parking lot. During the altercation, the witness heard several gunshots and then saw the victim lying on the ground of the parking lot.
