Valentine’s Day shop lifter takes basket of perfume, pepper sprays Ulta Beauty store employee

COLUMBUS – A Valentine’s shoplifter getting his gifts for his gals ahead of the big day loaded up his basket and made off with a pile of perfumes. On his way out, he sprayed pepper spray at an employee who tried to prevent the theft/

On February 7, 2022, at 2:47 pm, the suspect entered the Ulta Beauty store in the 3600 block of W. Dublin-Granville Rd.

While there, the suspect took a basket and went to the fragrance aisle and started picking up perfume. The suspect quickly started walking back towards the entrance. As the suspect approached the door, he pulled out a keychain sized mace can and he sprayed an employee in the face, making his escape. Another employee was outside and captured a picture of the suspect fleeing in what appeared to be a green, Ford Explorer. It appears the SUV had no rear license plate.


The suspect was described as a white male (possibly of Middle Eastern decent), 6’tall, medium build, wearing a black “Covid” mask, black jacket, dark colored stocking cap, dark jeans and armed with a “keychain” sized can of mace. The suspect stole $2,300 in products.
