Joe Pesci sold his Jersey Shore bayfront mansion, here’s how much he got paid

For decades the mystery of Joe Pesci’s Lavallette bayfront mansion has been sort of a local legend, but now, the Hollywood actor has sold him home and packed up for Hollywood. Pesci’s 7,200 waterfront mansion included a pool, spa, and rooms full of the actor’s memorabilia and artifacts.

He bought the home back in 1994 for the affordable sum of $850,000 and started trying to sell it back in 2019. He was asking $6.5 million for it, but even with the hot Jersey Shore market, he was unable to get his asking price. Pesci’s home sits about a half-mile from Ortley Beach, where 2012’s Superstorm Sandy devastated his community on the oceanfront and damaged many of his neighbor’s homes.

Still, after selling for $5 million, Pesci’s home was the highest-priced listing on the market in his town. A few years ago, Pesci had a beef with his neighbor who built an extremely long dock that cut into his home’s field of view overlooking the bay. The home was built in 1990 and includes two spacious second-floor balconies overlooking the Barnegat Bay.

If you know the area, you’ll know that most people battle with stone landscaping, but not here. Pesci’s estate is fence to fence decking in the back and concrete and pavers in the front.

Pesci, now 78, is still one of Hollywood’s biggest names. In 1999, Pesci announced his acting retirement but went on to appear in four more movies, The Good Shepherd (2006 cameo), Love Ranch (2010), a Warrior’s Tale (2016 voiceover), and the Irishman (2019).
