Defuniak Springs road rage incident turns violent after several shots fired

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FL – A road rage incident in Defuniak Springs has triggered an investigation after one of the participants began firing a gun at the other.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported a road rage incident near US Highway 331 N and US Highway 90 lead to shots fired earlier this evening. Now, multiple agencies are investigating and searching for the suspect vehicle.

“After a hit and run at 331 N and Highway 90, a suspect driving a dark green Volkswagon Jetta fired several shots at the victim’s vehicle. One bullet went through the cab of the truck nearly striking the driver,” the WCSO said in a statement Sunday night. “As seen in the first clip, the suspect followed the victim west on Highway 90 then back east before fleeing north on US Highway 331.”


There are no injuries as a result of the shooting, however, Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Office of the City Marshal, DeFuniak Springs Police are asking anyone with information on the suspect driver to come forward.
