Neighborly dispute ends with stabbing in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, Pa. – At 3:10 AM on February 12, 2022, officers of the Duquesne Police Department responded to the 2300 block of Duquesne Place for a report of an ordinance violation. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an adult female victim had been stabbed. The victim was transported to an area hospital in serious but stable condition. Prior to this call, Duquesne Police had responded to the same area at 11:31pm on February 11, 2022 for a noise complaint and also at 2:27am on February 12, 2022 for a neighbor dispute.

Duquesne Police Department requested the assistance of the Allegheny County Police. Detectives with the General Investigations Unit responded to initiate an investigation.

Through their investigation, detectives learned that 29-year-old Ashante Spears of Duquesne was the person responsible for the assault. Spears had been detained at the scene by Duquesne Police.


Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Spears charging her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and harassment. Spears was transported to the Allegheny County Jail by detectives.
