TOMS RIVER, NJ – Ocean County College will welcome tech security leader Dan Walsh for a discussion about Software Bill of Materials in the college’s first cybersecurity seminar of 2022.

Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) has been mentioned throughout the security industry as well as the federal government as a way to solve software supply chain risk. Yet many organizations and leaders don’t fully understand its implications. Join Dan as he discusses SBOM (and other BOMs) and a model of how both the public and private sector can leverage the SBOM to break down silos and build trust across organizations.

The seminar will take place from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 18. To join, visit go.ocean.edu/cybersecurity.

Dan Walsh is a two-time CISO and an industry leader in the health technology space. He comes from a security, application development and data background and has advised organizations ranging from Fortune 10 companies to startups taking their first steps in building a security program.

He is currently the CISO of VillageMD, a leading, national provider of value-based primary care services. He has worked on maturing security programs at scale through the strategic investment in people and sustainable and repeatable processes and identifying tools that support both. Additionally, he is a security startup consultant, former adjunct professor, and security examination developer.

OCC’s Cybersecurity Seminar Series presents notable and distinguished Chief Information Security Officers from across the industry to provide unique practical perspective on cybersecurity career paths and implementation considerations.
