Ex-Boyfriend charged for shooting woman several times in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, PA – On February 16th, 2022, at approximately 1:08 am, officers responded to a residence in the 100 Block of Chestnut St for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the female victim inside suffering from multiple gunshots wounds. Officers and Allentown EMS provided lifesaving medical care on the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital by EMS and is currently in stable condition.
Less than an hour later, at 0152 AM, Patrol Officers from the 4th Platoon located the suspect, who is the ex-boyfriend of the victim, in the area of the 600 blk N. Penn St. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

As the result of prompt police response, coordination, and investigation by the 4th Platoon Patrol Division, and in combination with the Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit, the following individual has been arrested and charged
Kyle Colleek Birch, 36 years of age, of Allentown
