Man rescued from burning home by Houston firefighters passed away at hospital, arson team investigating

HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found during a house fire at 3710 Ward Street about 3 a.m. on Tuesday.   The man is identified as Anthony Robinson, 63.   HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and E. May reported:   Mr. Robinson was inside the home at the above address when, for unknown reasons, a fire broke out.  An occupant inside the residence called 9-1-1 and reported the homeowner, Robinson, was still inside.

HPD patrol officers, as well as Houston Fire Department emergency personnel responded to the scene.  HFD personnel rescued Robinson and transported him to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.   The investigation is pending Robinson’s cause of death, to be determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The Houston Fire Department Arson Division will determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the fire.   Anyone with information in Robinson’s death is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
