New Jersey reporter charged with murder after killing 95-year-old woman while driving against traffic

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Anne “Nancy” Stewart, 95, of Monroe was killed in a crash that took place on Route 130 last Thursday. Now, the driver of the car that was intentionally driving in the opposite lane of traffic is being charged with murder.

Lisa Pollitt, 36, a reporter for New Brunswick Today has been charged with first-degree murder.

Police said Pollitt was intentionally driving south in the northbound lane of Route 130 when the crash happened. Initially, she was charged with aggravated assault, but charges were upgraded after Stewart passed away. The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is asking witnesses to the crash to contact their office at 609-664-3244.
