Wanted: Cory Poole of Newark, suspect in shooting incident

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara requests the public’s help with locating Cory Poole, 44, of Newark, who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on January 24, 2022.

At approximately 7:52 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of South 12th Street. When they arrived, officers canvassed the area and found one shell casing.

Detectives investigating this incident are seeking Poole for questioning. Poole is described as 5’9” and 181 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair, and a medium complexion.

Director O’Hara urges anyone with information about Poole’s whereabouts to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
