STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – Known by his peers as “Uncle Richie”, Stafford Township Police Department veteran Rich Sinopli is retiring.

“After 25 years of service, we bid farewell to one of Stafford Township’s Finest. Throughout his career, Officer Rich Sinopoli, aka “Uncle Richie,” has been an instrumental part of our department, serving in the Patrol Division, Community Policing Unit, as a DARE Officer, and in his most current role as Stafford Township Training Officer,” the department said in a release.

Officer Sinopoli earned his title by being a mentor to the young police officers in the department.

“Over the past several years, “Uncle Richie” earned this title due to his commitment to mentoring our “rookies” and taking these new officers under his wing. Officer Sinopoli has a sincere compassion for his fellow co-workers and he will be greatly missed,” the department said.
