TEANECK, NJ – The Teaneck Police Department has issued a warning to residents about an increase in the theft of package deliveries within the township.

“Package thefts have been happening throughout the Township,” the Teaneck Police Department said in a statement.

The department advises residents to bring packages into their homes as soon as possible. They also recommend the purchase and installation of a video doorbell system such as a Ring doorbell system or to use use a locking drop box located at their residents.

When possible, residents should also request a delivery confirmation signature and ask their delivery drivers to hide packages out of sight.

“We all play an important role in maintaining safety throughout the Township,” the Department said. “If you see something suspicious report it to 9-1-1 or contact the Teaneck Police Department at 201-837-2600.”
