U.S. Marshals Partner with Local Organization to Fulfill Dreams for Disadvantaged Youth

Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force
Cleveland, OH
– The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) has partnered
with Believe in Dreams, a local organization dedicated to fulfilling
dreams of disadvantaged youth who have experienced non-medical trauma
such as extreme poverty or abuse.

The organization believes a
positive experience can change a child’s life and empower children who
face overwhelming adversity. Believe in Dreams provides a customized
one-time experience for the recipient and their family and also creates
a deeper impact by providing a longer-term experience such as access to
classes, lessons or even career shadowing.

In the course of our
daily law enforcement activities, the USMS encounters many youths who
would benefit from this type of positive experience. Our personnel will
look to identify and nominate youths they connect with to help them
realize their dreams and give them hope for their future.

U.S.
Marshal Pete Elliott said “We are excited to be partnering with Believe
in Dreams and connecting deserving youth in our community with this
amazing organization that can change their lives. Our men and women of
the NOVFTF (Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force) are 350 strong
and are the eyes and ears of the communities we serve. Within this past
year we have recovered over 100 missing children across our district,
many of whom face challenges in their futures. With this new partnership
between the U.S. Marshals and Believe in Dreams, it will give many
youths hope for the future.”

Believe in Dreams Executive Director
Katie Eichenauer added “This partnership will ensure nominated youth
who’ve been recovered are empowered to reach for their dreams. It will
provide them with access and opportunities to explore their interests,
build healthy coping skills and heal from their traumas. We are so
grateful to be partnering with the U.S. Marshals to support these youth
in our community.”
