U.S. Marshals Task Force Capture Man Alleged to Have Murdered a Child

Memphis, TN
– U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest
of Terrell J. Woods for First-Degree Murder in the homicide of a
4-year-old child.

On Saturday, April 3, a 4-year-old boy was shot
to death in a vehicle near the 1000 block of W. Lexington Circle. Later
that same day, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Terrell J. Woods
for this crime.

Following an investigation, earlier today Woods
was stopped in a vehicle near the intersection of Poplar and 4th by the
U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Shelby
County Fugitive Apprehension Team. He was taken into custody without
incident.

“The Marshals Service was satisfied that we were able
to make an arrest in this unconscionable and horrific crime,” said U.S.
Marshal Tyreece Miller.


The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional
Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in
Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee
Division of the GCRFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its
membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County
Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s
Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of
Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to
arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
