U.S. Marshals Task Force Captures Dollar General Store Armed Robbery Suspect in Tennessee

– U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest
of Roger Spencer Jr. for Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault that
occurred in McNairy County, TN.

On June 19, 2021 the Dollar
General Store on Hwy. 45 in McNairy County was robbed at gun point by
two males. The next day, the McNairy County Sheriff’s Department issued
a warrant for Roger Spencer Jr. for the robbery. The fugitive case was
adopted by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force.

On June 30, 2021 investigators with the Task Force tracked the
fugitive to a residence in Antioch, Tennessee. With the assistance of
the U.S. Marshals Office in Nashville, TN, Spencer was contacted at that
residence and taken into custody without incident. Spencer had an
Aggravated Robbery warrant and two counts of Aggravated Assault.


“Violent crimes demand a swift response, and the Marshals service
was glad to help provide one,” said Marshal Tyreece Miller.

The
U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency
task force in the Western District of Tennessee with offices in Memphis
and Jackson. Its membership is composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby
County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County
Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and Special Agents with the
Tennessee Department of Correction. The primary mission of the Task
Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
