Del Rio Sector Agents Arrest Previously Deported Felons

DEL RIO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector arrested one convicted sex offender and one convicted murderer shortly after they illegally entered the United States.

On March 2, at approximately 5:30 p.m., agents assigned to Del Rio Station apprehended a Honduran national near Del Rio. During processing, record checks revealed the man was previously convicted, in October 2004, for sexual assault in the second degree in Connecticut and sentenced to 10 years confinement. In June 2013, he was convicted of rape in the second degree in New York and sentenced to 10 years’ probation and time served. He was most recently removed from the United States in April 2013.

On March 3, at approximately 4 a.m., agents assigned to Brackettville Station apprehended a Salvadoran national near Brackettville. During processing, record checks revealed the individual was previously arrested in Virginia and convicted of first-degree murder in 2006. He was sentenced to 20 years confinement and was most recently removed from the United States in 2014.
