ASBURY PARK, NJ – Asbury Park police are warning residents about a rash of catalytic converter thefts across the city in the past few months.

“Over the past two months, the Asbury Park Police Department has received an increase in the number of calls for service involving catalytic converter thefts from vehicles,” the Asbury Park Police Department said. “These thefts are occurring at all hours of the day, not only at night. In order to remove a catalytic converter, the suspect would need to be under the vehicle, cutting the converter from the vehicle.”

If you see any suspicious activity, please contact the Asbury Park Police Department at 732-774-1300.
