Forked River structure fire accidental, police

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – A fire at a home last Thursday on Anchorage Drive in Forked River has been determined to have been sparked by accidental causes.

The Lacey Township Police Department reported today, the fire that broke out at 8:21 pm on Thursday began in front of an unoccupied home.

“Upon arrival, officers observed a small fire burning on the ground in front of the home. Officers ensured that the home was unoccupied and extinguished the fire utilizing their fire extinguishers,” Chief Michael DiBella said in a statement today. “The Forked River Fire Department, Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, and a member of the Detective Bureau responded to the scene.  It was later determined the fire was accidental.”
