ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A ShotSpotter alert led police in Atlantic City to the front porch of a home where an alleged gunman was found urinating from a front porch.

According to the ACPD, “On March 8, 2022, a ShotSpotter alert led to the arrest of a man and the recovery of a stolen handgun and hollow-point bullets.”

“At 11:10 PM, patrol officers responded to the 100 block of North Delaware Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Officer Joseph Kelly Jr. arrived and observed Gregory Baker urinating from the front porch of a residence in the immediate proximity of the ShotSpotter notification,” the department said. “Officer Kelly made contact with Baker and as they spoke, Officer Kelly noticed a spent shell casing and a live round on the porch where Baker was standing. A check of Baker revealed he was in possession of a loaded handgun with hollow-point bullets. The loaded handgun was determined to be stolen out of the state of North Carolina.”

Gregory Baker, 36, of Atlantic City was charged.
