ROXBURY, NJ – The Roxbury Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Route 46 involving a tractor-trailer and one fatality.

Roxbury Police Chief Dean Adone Tuesday night confirmed a female driver involved in the crash succumbed to her injuries.

“At approximately 8:30 a.m., the Roxbury Police Department were dispatched to the area of Route 46 and Phillips Way on a report of a motor vehicle crash. Further investigation has revealed that a tractor-trailer was exiting the Citgo gas station onto Route 46 West. The tractor portion of the truck was completely in the roadway at the time, and a single-occupant car traveling on Route East 46 subsequently crashed directly into the truck,” Chief Adone said. “The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old female from Netcong, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities are in the process of notifying the victim’s next of kin.
There were no other vehicles involved in the collision and no other injuries reported.”

The incident is being investigated by the Roxbury Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
