Two charged, one stabbed, 30 bricks of heroin, cocaine seized in Jackson

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – An alleged crack cocaine and heroin dealer caught running from the scene of a crime within the Prospect Pointe Apartment complex on South New Prospect Road was arrestedafter a stabbing incident this weekend.

Captain Steven Laskiewicz of the Jackson Police Department reported that on Sunday at 3:25 pm, officers Joseph Pante, Andrew Lopez and Nicholas Kokich responded to the Prospect Pointe Apartments for a report of a stabbing that had taken place.

“Officers arrived on scene and located a 40-year-old male victim who had been stabbed multiple times,” Laskiewicz said. “He advised that during an argument with another male, that suspect had come to his residence and stabbed him, then fled back to his residence which he pointed out to officers.”

Laskiewicz said officers went to the suspect’s residence and were granted entry by another male resident. As they entered, they observed the suspect running out the front door where he was taken into custody by another officer at the front of the residence, and during the arrest, the knife used in the incident was recovered.


During a search of the residence, approximately 30 bricks of heroin, 10 grams of crack cocaine, and paraphernalia was recovered and another male resident was placed under arrest.

Daniel Meadows, age 38 of Jackson was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, processed and released on a summons with a pending court appearance.

Franklin Baptiste, age 53 with a last known address in Hoboken was charged with aggravated assault, burglary, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute.

Baptiste was processed and later lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
