NEWARK, NJ – A Newark woman flagged down police officers after she caught a group of burglars breaking into her car and leaving with her items. The incident happened on March 3rd and today, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara released photos of the suspect captured on surveillance cameras.

O’Hara said on that day, at approximately 10:10 a.m., the victim flagged down police officers at Broad and South streets and told them several personal items were missing from her automobile that she parked in the 100 block of Orchard Street.

“As she turned to walk back to her vehicle, the victim told officers that she saw a tall white male carrying her lunch bag which was inside the vehicle,” O’Hara said. “The white male was with a Black male and they were walking westbound on South Street toward Broad Street.
