WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is investigating a homicide that took place on the 2200 Block of Minnesota Ave, in Southeast D.C. on March 15th.
37 year-old Nikia Young, of Southeast, D.C. was named as the victim.
According to Detectives, “At approximately 12:01 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located an adult female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.”
