PALMYRA, NJ – The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a targeted attack on a home in Palmyra that left one man dead as he was sitting inside the residence, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Palmyra Police Department Chief Meghan Campbell.

Police say the man was killed early in the morning while sitting inside his residence by gunshots fired into the home from outside.

“Timothy Thomas was in his living room in the 400 block of Cinnaminson Avenue when multiple shots were fired into the residence at approximately 2:30 a.m,” Chief Campbell said in a statement. “Thomas, who was struck in the chest, was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 4 a.m.”

“A relative who was in the same room with Thomas when the shooting occurred was uninjured. The preliminary investigation suggests there were multiple shooters, who fled on foot in the direction of the Delaware River,” according to Prosecutor Coffina.

No arrests have been made.
