PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Police Department is searching for an armed carjacker who held up a taxi driver in the area of Cottman Avenue and Torresdale Avenue on Wednesday.
Police have now released a video of the attack from inside the cab.
“On March 23, 2022, at approximately 6:15 pm, a private taxi company picked up an unknown black male at Jackson Street and Bleigh Avenue,” the Philadelphia Police Department reported. “The suspect entered the car and paid his fare. When the car approached Torresdale and Cottman Aves, the suspect produced a black handgun, with an extended magazine, hit the driver and demanded money and the car.”
The driver exited the car, at which time the suspect went west on Cottman and north on Cottage to Aldine St. where he abandoned the car.
