JACKSON, NJ – It’s a community that was built only for “nice people”, according to Jackson Twentyone visionary Mitch Leigh. Leigh has since passed away, but it seems that the community’s employees are anything but nice.

Another Jackson Twentyone worker has been caught violating the privacy and rights of residents.

According to the Jackson Police Department, on Friday, a worker of the association at Jackson Twentyone entered a residence on Olmstead Way and began rifling through a woman’s bedroom drawers.

“At 11:45 pm. Jackson Police Officer Kevin Chesney responded to a residence located on Olmsted Way in the Gardens at Jackson 21 on an attempted theft,” said Captain Steven Laskiewicz. “The resident reported that an employee of the association had been doing work in her residence and when she viewed a recording from a camera set up in the bedroom, the employee was observed going through her nightstand and dresser drawers.”

A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with criminal attempt theft. He was processed and released on a summons pending a court appearance. Police did not release his name.

Back in December, another Jackson Twentyone worker was caught robbing a home.

On December 23rd, 2021, Police Officer Michael DeBlasi responded to a residence located on Chatham Court West in the Gardens at Jackson 21 on the report of a theft. A resident was reporting that over $4,000.00 in cash and an Apple watch had been stolen from the residence although no forced entry was made. The officer’s initial investigation resulted in the potential suspect being identified as an employee of the complex’s maintenance department.

Detective Brian Baranyay continued the investigation which also included reviewing security camera video showing the maintenance employee entering the residence while the victim was not home, which the employee provided conflicting information about. Multiple follow-up interviews were conducted which resulted in Det. Baranyay obtained probable cause to obtain a warrant complaint against the suspect, who was arrested and lodged in the Ocean County Jail after he turned himself in at police headquarters on January 13, 2022.

In that incident. Troy Jones, age 57 of Jackson was arrested and charged.
