TOMS RIVER, NJ – Suez customers in Toms River might experience low water pressure and possible water discoloration as the township’s water provider has begun flushing hydrants.

“Beginning on Monday, March 28th, 2022 through approximately Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, SUEZ crews will be working in the Silverton area neighborhoods within Toms River on valve operations and fire hydrant flushing between approximately 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. There will be no weekend flushing,” Suez said in a statement. “The projects our crews are working on help ensure reliable water service, quality and proper flows necessary for firefighting.”

Suez says customers may experience lower pressure or slight discoloration during the work which are harmless minerals that have accumulated in the mains. If customers notice slight discoloration, they are asked to run a cold water tap for a few minutes until it runs clear.
