Westampton man charged for shooting in Willingboro

WILLINGBORO, NJ – Police in Willingoboro responded to a shooting call on Wednesday in the area of Pheasant Lane and Princeton Lane at around 3:40 pm.

According to police, officers arrived on the scene quickly and were given a description of the alleged shooter. Moments later, police spotted Darelle Riddick, a 42-year-old resident of Westampton, walking in the area and was seen holding a firearm in his right hand. Riddick was given multiple verbal commands to drop the weapon, which he did, and was taken into custody without incident.

A 34-year-old resident of Willingboro was located on Pheasant Lane with a gunshot wound and was transported was to Cooper Hospital in Camden and is listed in stable condition.


“Darrelle Riddick was subsequently charged with Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a weapon, Possession of a weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Certain Persons not to Possess a weapon, and Aggravated Assault. He was later lodged in the Burlington County Jail,” police said in a statement.
