Two Boys Stabbed in Pittsburgh in Critical Condition

PITTSBURGH, PA – Two children were reportedly stabbed and are now recovering in the hospital in critical condition, according to the Pittsburgh Police Department.

“Police are investigating after a male arrived at the Zone 2 station on Centre Ave. before 7 a.m. with his young son who had suffered a stab wound. EMS transported the child to the hospital,” the department said. “The father and police officers then returned to a residence in the 200 block of Dinwiddie Street where a second boy had also sustained a stab wound. He was transported to the hospital by medics. Both children were last reported to be in critical but stable condition.”

Major Crimes detectives are interviewing all of the relevant parties from this incident.

“I have been profoundly troubled by the recent spate of violent crimes in the City. In a matter of five days, there have been three shootings that have taken the lives of three young people, aggravated assaults, multiple shots fired, and now, two children, two young boys, have suffered critical stabbing injuries,” said Police Chief Scott Schubet. “While the number of violent crimes has been rising around the United States since 2020 and the onset of the pandemic, this is an oversimplified explanation. This is unacceptable in Pittsburgh. This is not reflective of the city we know and love. People are clearly hurting.”
