One Injured in Perth Amboy Fire

PERTH AMBOY, NJ – Late Sunday night, the Perth Amboy Fire Department responded to a fire at a home on First Street. The fire broke out at 11:07 pm and upon arrival by firefighters, heavy fire conditions were found from the front of 159 & 161 First Street and a second alarm was transmitted.

“Crews immediately began searches and fire attack with two hose lines,” the PAFD said. “The fire was quickly contained as all occupants were accounted for. Extensive overhaul was needed to fully extinguish the fire.”

One resident was treated and transported to the Medical Center with minor burns. In total there were ten residents displaced from the two houses. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the PAFD.
