UTICA, NY – A driveby shooting sent one man to the hospital in Utica on Sunday. Police said the shooting took place at approximately 3:15 PM.
Oneida County Dispatch sent officers to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital regarding a male gunshot victim.
“Upon arrival, it was learned that a male had driven himself to the hospital after being shot once in the left leg,” the Utica Police Department said. “It was further learned that the victim was exiting a convenience store at the intersection of Mohawk St and Elizabeth St when a dark in colored SUV drove past him firing several shots, one of which struck him in the leg. The victim then drove himself to the hospital.”
His injuries are not considered life threatening and the Utica Police Department Major Crimes Unit has been assigned the investigation.
