Police Beat: Here’s What’s Happening in Lakehurst

LAKEHURST, NJ – The Lakehurst Police Department his issued a list of crimes committed in the borough between March 1-31. The incidents do not represent all calls by the agency, but a summary of incidents reported in their monthly crime blotter report.

CONTEMPT- On 3/2/22, Lakehurst Officers were called to a residence on Elm Street for a disturbance. A 39-year-old male was placed under arrest for contempt of court. The male was transported to police headquarters and lodged at the Ocean County Jail.

ASSAULT- On 3/3/22, Lakehurst Officers responded to a residence on Rose Street for a disturbance. A 30-year-old male was placed under arrest for simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was lodged at the Ocean County Jail.

ASSAULT- On 3/3/22, Lakehurst Officers responded to the Express Inn Motel for a disturbance. A 53-year-old male was placed under arrest for simple assault. The male was transported to police headquarters and lodged at the ocean county jail.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/4/22, Lakehurst Officers responded to the Dunkin Donuts for an intoxicated individual. A 64-year-old male was placed under arrest for an active arrest warrant. The male was transported to Lakehurst Police Headquarters and ultimately released.

DWI- On 3/4/22, Lakehurst Officers responded to the area of the Lakehurst Elementary School for a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the vehicle involved struck several parked vehicles, caused property damage to a nearby residence, and drove through the fenced in playground area of the Lakehurst Elementary School before coming to a stop in a vacant parking lot on Lake Street. The driver, a 47-year-old male, was placed under arrest for DWI.

CDS ARREST- On 3/5/22, PO Harry Paul conducted a traffic stop on Route 37. An on-scene investigation lead to a search of the vehicle, resulting in the discovery of drug paraphernalia. A 57-year-old female was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, and ultimately released from custody.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/6/22, PO Gavin Cecchini conducted a traffic stop on Route 70. The driver, a 29 year old male, was placed under arrest for an active criminal warrant and hindering apprehension. The male was transported to police headquarters and lodged at the Ocean County Jail.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/6/22, PO Gavin Cecchini conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 547. The driver, a 23-year-old female, was placed under arrest for an active arrest warrant. The female was transported to police headquarters and released.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/12/22, Lakehurst Officers responded to the Express Inn Motel for a report of a theft. During the investigation, a 40-year-old female was arrested for an active traffic warrant. The female was transported to Lakehurst Police headquarters and released.

CDS ARREST- On 3/14/22, PO Anthony Florio conducted a traffic stop on Route 37. An on-scene investigation lead to the discovery of a quantity of cocaine inside the vehicle. The driver, a 43-year-old female, was placed under arrest for possession of CDS. The female was transported to police headquarters and lodged at the Ocean County Jail.

CDS ARREST- On 3/16/22, PO Harry Paul conducted a traffic stop on Route 70. An on-scene investigation resulted in a search of the vehicle and the discovery of a quantity of suspected Ecstasy pills. The driver, a 32-year-old female, was arrested for Possession of CDS. She was transported to police headquarters and lodged at the Ocean County Jail.

CDS ARREST- On 3/16/22, Sgt. Jason Guide conducted a traffic Stop on Route 37. An on-scene investigation lead to a search of the vehicle and occupants. The search resulted in the discovery of a quantity of Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Alprazolam, drug paraphernalia, and metal knuckles. The driver, a 50 year old male, was arrested for Possession of CDS and Prohibited weapons. The passenger, a 23-year-old male, was arrested for Possession of CDS and Paraphernalia. Both were transported to police headquarters. The driver was later released, and the passenger was lodged at the Ocean County Jail. Assisting on scene was the Toms River Police Department K9 Unit.

CDS ARREST- On 3/17/22, PO Christian Hernandez conducted a traffic stop conducted a traffic stop on Route 70. An on-scene investigation lead to a search of the vehicle. The driver, a 62-year-old male, was placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was transported to police headquarters and released.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/20/22, PO Vance Pelino conducted a traffic stop on Route 37. The driver, a 44-year-old female, was placed under arrest for an active traffic warrant. The female was transported to police headquarters and later released.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF- On 3/21/22, Lakehurst Officers responded to a residence on Center Street for a disturbance. A 19-year-old male was arrested for Criminal Mischief. The male was transported to police headquarters and later released.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/23/22, PO Harry Paul conducted a traffic stop on Route 70. The driver, a 66-year-old female, was placed under arrest for an active Criminal warrant. The female was transported to police headquarters and lodged at the Ocean County Jail.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/24/22, PO Vance Pelino was on patrol in the area of Route 70 and Rose Street when he observed a suspect with several known traffic and criminal warrants walking down the street. The suspect, a 30-year-old female, was placed under arrest. She was transported to police headquarters and later released.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/25/22, Officers responded to the area of Circle Plaza for a disturbance. Upon arrival, a 19-year-old male that was involved was placed under arrest for an active criminal warrant. The male was transported to police headquarters and released.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/26/22, PO Christian Hernandez conducted a traffic stop near the Pinehurst Estates complex. The driver, a 33-year-old female, was placed under arrest for an active traffic warrant. The female was transported to police headquarters and later released.

WEAPONS & DISTRIBUTION ARREST- On 3/27/22, PO Gavin Cecchini conducted a motor vehicle stop for several equipment violations. The driver, a 30-year-old male, was found to be in possession of 2 loaded firearms, a revolver and .9mm pistol, in his waistband as well as a switchblade knife. A search of the vehicle also lead to the discovery of a large amount of Marijuana and packaging material consistent with distribution. $1200 in currency was also seized pending forfeiture. The male was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, and lodged at the ocean county jail for: Unlawful Possession of a handgun, Possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Possession of Hollow Point bullets, Unlawful possession of a knife, Possession of prohibited weapons, Possession of a weapon during a CDS offense, Distribution of marijuana over 1 ounce, Possession of Marijuana over 6 ounces, Possession of Drug paraphernalia.

WARRANT ARREST- On 3/29/22, Officers responded to a residence on Union Ave for a disturbance. A 38-year-old female was placed under arrest for an active criminal and traffic warrant. She was transported to police headquarters and released.

ASSAULT- On 3/29/22, Officers arrested a 39-year-old male at Lakehurst Police Headquarters for Simple assault during a follow up investigation. The male was processed and released.

CDS ARREST- On 3/29/22, Chief Matthew Kline conducted a motor vehicle stop on Maple Street. The driver, a 56-year-old male, was placed under arrest for two active criminal warrants. The male was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was transported to police headquarters and lodged at the Ocean County Jail.

CDS ARREST- On 3/30/22, Sgt. Jason Guide approached a suspicious vehicle in the Express Inn Motel parking lot. During this time, drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view and a search of the vehicle resulted in discovery of additional paraphernalia. The driver, a 37-year-old female, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The female was transported to police headquarters and released.
