Police Say No Suspects Yet in Sunday’s Suitland Murder

SUITLAND, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department said today it has not identified a suspect or motive yet after finding a man shot dead inside his vehicle on Suitland Road.

“Detectives with our Homicide Unit are investigating the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Demarcus Butler of District Heights. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case,” PGPD said in a statement. “On April 3, 2022, at approximately 5:30 am, patrol officers were called to the 4800 block of Suitland Road in Suitland for a welfare check. They discovered Butler unresponsive in the driver’s side of an SUV with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died a few hours later.”

 Detectives are working to identify a suspect or a motive.
