LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo South Station, together with local law enforcement partners, shut down a stash house yielding the apprehension of several undocumented individuals and the seizure of a large amount of narcotics in west Laredo.
The incident occurred on April 5, when an interagency collaboration between Laredo Sector agents, CBP Air and Marine Operations, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Texas Department of Public Safety, and Webb County Constable’s Office Precinct 2, led to the discovery of a suspected stash house on Salinas Avenue. Through a coordinated effort, a search of the residence was conducted that resulted in the arrest of over 30 undocumented individuals and the seizure of over 100 bundles of marijuana which weighed over 2,300 lbs. The undocumented individuals were identified as being from the countries of Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. The marijuana was discovered with the assistance of a U.S. Border Patrol Service canine and had an estimated street value of over $1,800,000.
All undocumented individuals were medically screened and provided with personal protective equipment. The seized narcotics and individuals were taken into custody to be processed accordingly. This case was turned over to HSI for further investigation.
