Syracuse, NY – Two stolen car suspects were arrested after fleeing police and hiding out inside a nearby Kohl’s department store which was unlocked for construction workers.

“On Tuesday, at around 12:53 A.M., Officers patrolling South Salina Street and McClure Avenue observed a stolen vehicle reported out of Utica, New York,” the Syracuse Police Department said. “Attempts were made to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused. A pursuit ensued and went from the City of Syracuse and continued to the Town of Fayetteville.”

Multiple local agencies assisted in the pursuit.

The Syracuse Police Department said the suspect vehicle eventually turned into the Kohl’s parking lot at 100 Towne Drive and struck a parked car.

“After the collision, two suspects fled the vehicle and ran into the Kohl’s store that was unlocked due to overnight construction taking place,” the department said.

Both suspects were quickly detained. The driver is identified as Ali Ali, 18, and the passenger was identified as Antoniay Montgomery, 19.
