Reward Offered for Suspect who Assaulted Woman at Michael’s Parking Lot

COMMACK, NY – The Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward that leads to the arrest of a man who assaulted a woman in the parking lot at Michaels in Commack while getting her child into the car in February.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, a man struck a woman in the head from behind while putting her 2-year-old daughter in her car in the parking lot of Michael’s, located at 30 Veterans Memorial Highway, on February 15 at approximately 2:30 p.m.

“The suspect displayed what appeared to be a gun and ordered the woman into the backseat. The man took the victim’s cellphone and demanded her keys. The woman pressed the panic button on the key fob and the man fled on foot eastbound through the parking lot,” the agency said. “The man is described as Hispanic, 6 feet tall, and approximately 50 years old. He was wearing a green sweater and a mask over the bottom of his face.”
