Jackson Township to Conduct Street Light Audit

Phil Stilton

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Following the lead of nearby Toms River, which approved a township-wide street light inventory and audit, the Jackson Township Council will vote on Tuesday to do a similar audit.

Toms River officials said the audit was to see how many lights the municipality was paying for versus how many were actually in use.

In Toms River, that audit is also being used to see if street lights need to be increased in areas of the town with high pedestrian traffic.

The Jackson Township Council will vote to issue a request for a proposal for a company to conduct a location and wattage audit township-wide.
