Weapon violation
Columbia, 21045: 
Kilimanjaro Road & Merryrest Road, April 13 9:07 p.m.
An adult male victim reported that he was in his vehicle when it was shot at by suspect(s) in another vehicle. No one was injured and the victim’s vehicle was not struck. Police recovered shell casings from the scene and are investigating whether the incident stemmed from road rage.

Robbery
Columbia, 21045: 
Giant, 7200 block of Cradlerock Way, April 8 7:30 p.m. 
An employee reported that when he approached a female suspect who had stolen merchandise, the suspect pepper sprayed him. Police responded and arrested the suspect. No serious injuries were reported. 
ARRESTED: Daniella Lopez-Layfield, 37, of Columbia, charged with armed robbery, robbery, assault, and theft

Ellicott City, 21043: Irwin Trail & Kaiser Drive, April 11 7:30 a.m. 
An adult male victim reported that he was approached by an acquaintance and other male suspects who assaulted him and stole his cell phone before fleeing. No one was injured.

Commercial burglary
Elkridge, 21075: 
OT Hall & Son, Inc., 7100 block of Troy Hill Drive, April 8 3:45 p.m. 
An employee reported that a male suspect attempted to enter the business by tampering with the door. No entry was made. 

Residential burglary
Columbia, 21044: 
10400 block of Hickory Ridge Road, April 10 
Unknown suspect(s) entered a residence and stole various items. No signs of forced entry were observed.
