Driveby Shooting Turns into Gunfight That Left Woman Dead

AKRON, OH – A 21-year-old woman was struck in the back of the head during a shootout between a drive-by shooter and a group of individuals who returned fire. She was placed on life support but is not expected to survive.

On Thursday, at around 7:30 p.m., occupants of an older Chevy Impala started firing shots at a group of people on 1492 Rockaway Street.

Two males in the group grabbed their guns and started firing shots indiscriminately.


“A female in another car was struck in the back of the head from one of the stray bullets fired from one of the males,” Akron Police said. “The victim is on life support and is not expected to survive.”
