PITTSBURGH, PA – Early this morning, Pittsburgh police officers from Zone 1, who were responding to another call, heard multiple gunshots in the 3100 block of McClure Avenue just before 2 a.m.

When they arrived, a vehicle fled the scene and police followed in pursuit. That vehicle eventually stopped at the hospital emergency room where a gunshot victim was discovered.

“Units responded to the area and approached an occupied SUV with someone in the backseat they believed may have been a victim. The vehicle sped off when they approached and police pursued it to the hospital, where they found an adult male with a critical gunshot wound(s) in the backseat. They began CPR,” the Pittsburgh Police Department said. “The male was taken into the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Three males were transported to police headquarters for questioning.”
