UTICA, NY – A shooting in Utica might make you want to rethink your guest list for your next party. After a group of individuals was denied entry into a house party, they fired their guns at the home. Luckily, none of their shots hit any of their intended targets, according to police.

The Utica Police Department said on Friday at 11:45 PM officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Noyes Street regarding a shots fired call.

“Upon arrival, they located several individuals standing in the roadway who informed the officers that as they were having a small gathering, several unknown individuals came to the residence and began to argue with them about being denied admittance,” the Utica Police Department said. “These unknown parties, who were attired in dark clothing with facemasks, then began an attempt to fight the group, when at least one, likely two individuals displayed handguns and started firing rounds at the crowd.”

“Thankfully no one was injured in the incident,” the department said.

Eight spent shell casings were located at the scene during the police investigation.
