DAYVILLE, CT – Police are searching for a man who stole gardening tools from a business while their workers were performing maintenance at the Westview Nursing Home.

According to police, on Monday, at approximately 12:26 pm, Connecticut State Troopers responded to Westview Nursing Home located in Dayville for the report of a larceny.

“Through further investigation, Troopers learned that a leaf blower and chain saw were stolen out of the back of a lawn care trailer on 04/15/2022 at approximately 3:30 pm,” CSP said. “Troopers later obtained camera footage revealing the suspect vehicle, which is described as a silver in color, KIA SUV-style vehicle which is believed to have CT plates. The vehicle approached the trailer, did counter-surveillance, and ultimately a white male exited the vehicle and entered the trailer on foot.”

The male is described as a white male who is approximately six feet tall, bald, and wearing dark clothing. The male was wearing a black ball cap at the time of the incident. Video footage shows the male stealing both the leaf blower and chain saw directly out of the trailer, putting them into his vehicle, and leaving the parking lot.
